The CC-Zero-Project is an ambitious project that collects musicological worth protecting analogue and digital sound recordings. Our goal is the free availability of public domain related content like music, sound or voice recordings. Creative works of literature, science and art are subject to copyright law. Works in the public domain are those whose intellectual property rights have expired. With the help of volunteers, our team cleans, cataloged and digitized 78 rpm gramophone- and early vinyl records. After the clearing of copyrights, free works are available inside our media pool and Wikimedia Commons ( CC-Zero-Project, PD Project), compressed in FLAC without any loss in quality (24-bit/192kHz).
